2945 W. Midway Road

Ft. Pierce, FL 34981

History & Operations

Drawdy Brothers is a concrete shell construction company based in Ft. Pierce, Fl, with an additional location in Orlando. Drawdy touts “tilt wall construction, structural/reinforced conventional construction, post-tension deck systems, flatwork and preconstruction design/development” as their areas of expertise. Founded in 1979 by Phil and Troy Drawdy, the brothers currently head a company employing (as of 2007) about 400; Phil’s son, Danny Drawdy (Phil Jr.) is listed on the website as “operations manager” and appears to run day-to-day operations. Justin Drawdy (either Phil Sr. or Troy’s son) is listed as a superintendent, but is best known for his stock car racing, sponsored by Drawdy Brothers Construction. The Drawdy brothers are also listed as principals of additional Florida corporate entities, including Drawdy Concrete Construction, LLC and Trinity Management of the Treasure Coast, LLC (formerly known as Drawdy Brothers Construction I). Phil Sr. is listed as President of Drawdy Brothers Construction II, but appears to have relinquished most control to either Troy or Danny.

Safety Record

Drawdy Brothers Construction has been subject to over $180,000 in proposed fines by OSHA since 2000. In 2005, they were hit with $100,000 in fees during a single inspection for ten separate violations, and ended up settling for $60,000. According to a statement from Luis Santiago, the Ft. Lauderdale area OSHA director, Drawdy received the fees for several repeat violations including unsafe scaffolding and exposing workers to falls through unguarded floor openings.

Litigation/Wage Enforcement

In June of 2007, Drawdy Brothers Construction (along with several co-defendants) was sued in federal court by ship owner Twosome Investments. Twosome owned a ship moored in Rybovich Harbor in West Palm Beach next to a jobsite building condominiums, where general contractor The Weitz Company employed Drawdy Brothers Construction II. Drawdy had poured some concrete forms that Twosome alleged became unmoored and damaged the ship during Hurricane Wilma. The case was dismissed in October 2007; below are links to several relevant court documents.
