On May 21, 2010, Beyel Brothers bought a 71.77-acre lot in the Cidco Road area of Cocoa, FL. Beyel entered into a mortgage with the seller, FDG Rail Holdings, for $3,240,000. On the same day, FDG Rail Holdings assigned the mortgage to Bank of America.
The Cidco Road area, in north Cocoa, is an industrial area previously known as home to a large Cadillac Gage plant. Most of the surrounding land was controlled by the Florida East Coast Railway, but has been parceled out to investors, developers and businesses. Mark Beyel is listed as the owner of a 19.25-acre lot in this area, which was purchased in 2008 from Cidco Group LLC, itself controlled by Mark Beyel and Steve Lathem, owner of Cocoa Auto Salvage. Beyel has completed its move to its new headquarters, just three miles north of its longtime location at 4505 Pine Cone Place.

Property Information
The former Cocoa headquarters consists of several adjacent parcels on Pine Cone Place and Cox Road. According to Brevard County Property Appraiser records, some parcels are owned by Beyel Brothers Inc. or Ongoing Investments Inc., while others list only Mark Beyel as the owner (one record also lists Joey Beyel). Beyel still uses these lots to store cranes, trucks and equipment.

Delinquent Taxes
Beyel Brothers has a long history of failing to pay property taxes on time, resulting in tens of thousands of dollars in interest charges since the company’s founding.
For example, in Beyel’s home county, Brevard, real estate taxes become delinquent on April 1. On June 1 of each year, Brevard County holds a public sale of tax certificates for delinquent properties. Third party investors pay the delinquent tax, then charge the landowner interest ranging from 5% to 18% to relinquish the certificate against the property.
In many cases over the years, Beyel pays Florida tax certificate investors hundreds or thousands of dollars above the original amounts of their tax bills. As just one example, click HERE for the tax payment histories of four parcels at Beyel’s Cocoa headquarters. In many cases the payer is an entity other than Beyel Brothers (often it is Gulf Group or another corporation controlled by prominent Florida tax certificate investor Jonathan Politano), and the amount paid is higher than the amount billed due to interest resulting from delinquency.
Collectively these delinquencies in several Florida counties add up to many thousands of dollars over the years.
